Carrier Park

The City of Asheville commissioned Sitework Studios to develop the master plan and construction documents for Phase II of what has become “the City’s most popular park”. The new public park was designed to provide recreational opportunities and educate visitors about native flora and fauna, stormwater runoff and the river ecosystem. A conservation easement along the French Broad River was established and a link to the French Broad Greenway was included in the park’s overall design. Twelve informational kiosks were integrated into the new constructed wetlands and provide a unique, hands-on experience for students who visit the park as part of their science education curriculum.
