Carrier Park
The City of Asheville commissioned Sitework Studios to develop the master plan and construction documents for Phase II of what has become “the City’s most popular park”. The park was designed to provide recreational opportunities as well as educate visitors about regional native flora and fauna, stormwater runoff and the French Broad River’s ecosystem. A conservation easement along the river was established and a link to the French Broad Greenway was included in the park’s overall design. Twelve informational kiosks are integrated into the new constructed wetlands and provide a hands-on experience for students who visit the park as part of their school’s science education curriculum.
