Glen Rock Depot is a mixed-use project, developed by our long-time client, Mountain Housing Opportunities (MHO). Located in Asheville’s River Arts District, it is a cornerstone in the District’s rebirth and expansion.
Phase I of the project included the renovation and adaptive reuse of an old storefront building, now housing art galleries and studios. Phase II entailed LEED certification for the development and the construction of a trailhead for the proposed Town Branch Greenway. Phase III entailed the renovation of the historic Glen Rock Hotel, which was adapted for street-level commercial use and upper-level residential living. The adjacent parking lot contains an on-site rain garden to manage stormwater. The project also features an interior courtyard planted with native vegetation and new streetscapes along Depot and Ralph Streets with artist-designed site furnishings.
