Grove Park Residence
Sitework Studios designed new garden spaces to complement this landmark 1926 Tudor-Revival home in Asheville’s Grove Park neighborhood. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Landscape challenges included the design of a prominent front garden which separates the house from the street, and a rear garden bisected by Reed Creek. The front landscape included new walkways, a drainage system, and a refined plant palette highlighting an extensive perennial border designed to be viewed from both inside the house and from passing vehicles. The rear garden has a new patio and privacy screening, and selective removal of invasive plants revealed long established bulbs, native wildflowers and the simplicity of the garden’s original design.
