Mars Hill University

Sitework Studios has collaborated with Legerton Architecture on numerous projects at this picturesque university in Western North Carolina.

Our work has included the new primary building on campus, Day Hall.  Many facets of sustainable design were of paramount importance in guiding this project’s objectives.  Permeable paving, rain gardens, and bioswales have been incorporated in our projects here to reduce stormwater runoff and provide visual stimulation in a learning environment.  Site hardscape materials have been carefully selected to complement the campus’ unique historic character.

Additionally, the new Ammons Field House serves as a backdrop to the university’s football stadium.  Our site plans included an expansive bioretention feature as well as refined hardscape treatments that welcome and direct patrons, while also creating a remarkable entry and exit for the home team.
